SHE'S SUCH AN AIRHEAD! KENDRA WILKINSON SAY'S SHE WAS A VERY GOOD PERSON IN HER DRUG FILLED STRIPPER DAYS!

Former pin-up Kendra Wilkinson's life these days is more playtime than Playboy, but that suits the blond bombshell just fine.
"I'm where I always wanted to be," Wilkinson, 25, told the “Today” show Tuesday.

The reality star, who shot to fame as one of Hugh Hefner's girlfriends on E!'s "The Girls Next Door," says life as a wife and mother is "almost perfect," but wasn't always this way.

"It's been an uphill battle," she writes in her new book "Sliding Into Home," an excerpt of which can be read on msnbc.com. "And while life is great ... before I can talk about the best of times, I need to tell you about the worst."

In the memoir, Wilkinson revisits her party-girl past and reveals how she started using drugs at 13 and worked as a stripper.

"I always knew that was wrong," she told "Today." "I kind of lost myself for a little bit."

Wilkinson, who married Philadelphia Eagle star Hank Baskett last June and gave birth to son Hank Jr. in December, said even in her bad-girl days she knew she wanted a different life.

"I was a very good person doing it, but I was kind of still embarrassed about it," she said. "It wasn't me."

The former Playmate has admitted to being a troubled teenager before. She previously revealed that at 15 she was abusing drugs, "feeling suicidal" and "cutting myself," even checking into a mental hospital.

"I had so much pain that I just wanted to die," she said about that time. "It wasn't that I was trying to die, it was that the [physical] pain [of cutting myself] took away from my pain inside."

Wilkinson cites a near-death experience from a cocaine overdose as the turning point that made her realize she needed to get her life together.

"I was bleeding from every hole in my body, and I really thought I was going to die that night," she said. "But you know what, I survived, and I swear it was a couple of days after that that I had an epiphany. I just stopped drugs, stopped smoking cigarettes, stopped everything, and went home."

In addition to sharing details from her rocky past, Wilkinson also takes the opportunity in her new book to open up about how she became Hef's girlfriend.

She says after she applied as a model for his birthday party at the Playboy Mansion, the legendary lothario hand-selected her to work at the event.

"I look forward to seeing you at my birthday," Hefner told her on the phone. "Also, I’d like you to consider being my girlfriend."

Wilkinson says Hefner repeated the question at the party, and she agreed.

"That night my life changed," she writes. "I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but something just felt right about it. Hef didn't offer me money or tell me he was going to make me a star. He didn't say anything, because truthfully that wasn't the deal. He wasn't trying to offer me anything other than him (and maybe a pretty cool home)."

Despite her new husband and family, she says she still has fond feelings for Hefner.

"I've always loved him," she told "Today."

One thing Wilkinson doesn't address in the book: the sex tape she made at 18 with ex-boyfriend Justin Frye, which made headlines earlier this year.

"Of course we had sex like every couple does, and every now and then we would videotape it," she has said in the past about the incident. "At that time, I wasn't a celebrity. I didn't even know I was going to become a celebrity."
