Sexually Charged Answers On ‘Family Feud’ Have Viewers Fuming

When Harvey asked another contestant on a previous show to name "the last thing you stuck your finger in," the player responded with "my wife," leaving viewers of the show annoyed with the continual sexual path the family game show has taken.

YouTube clips of the shocking answers were posted on the “Family Feud” channel and each received more than 800,000 views.

The comments under the videos made it clear fans were not too pleased.

"Man this show is really milking the sex thing," one comment read.

Another viewer said, "They come up with these questions now knowing someone will say something like this. Not funny when it's totally planned."

But since Harvey took over as host of the show in 2010, ratings have surged — beating both “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy” on a regular basis.

Dan Gainor, vice president of business and culture of the Media Research Center, told FOX11 the racy comments are simply a result of sexual content becoming more acceptable on television.

"I think what has changed is that Hollywood has so undermined and coarsened our culture, that these answers have become the norm," Gainor said.

"Sex acts that many Americans had never even heard of are now typical dialogue."

But it’s also a trend that dates to the 1970s, when game shows like "The Newlywed Game" became known to pose risqué questions to contestants.

In one famous 1977 show, host Bob Eubanks asked contestants, “Where is the weirdest place you’ve ever gotten the urge to make whoopee?”

One bride hesitantly answered, “In the ass.”

The audience laughed as the embarrassed new bride corrected her response.
