SEAN PENN DECIDES IT'S CHEAPER TO KEEP HER!

They're on, they're off and they're on again.

Actor Sean Penn has withdrawn papers this week requesting a legal separation from his wife of 13 years, actress Robin Wright Penn, according to news reports in the New York Daily News and the syndicated TV show "Extra."

Penn, 48, originally filed papers in Marin County Superior Court on April 24, asking for joint legal custody of the couple's two children. His wife would have had 30 days from that date to respond to the request.

Wright Penn, who is in France as a juror for the Cannes Film Festival, filed for separation in December 2007, but later withdrew those papers as well.
