Sean “Diddy” Combs will officially remain in police custody as he awaits trial the Harlem native has decided to drop his appeal to be released on bail, as stated in court documents filed last week (Dec. 13). In the document, his attorneys relay, “Mr. Combs does not seek to appeal the district court’s denial of his renewed motion and hereby moves to voluntarily dismiss the appeal.” Combs’ criminal trial is slated to begin in May 2025. The disgraced Hip-Hop mogul is currently incarcerated at Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, NY. The filing, signed by Combs, clarifies that the 55-year-old is fully aware of the ramifications of dismissing the appeal, He also now has access to a laptop loaded with all of the evidence related to his criminal sex trafficking prosecution seven days per week during select hours in a visiting room or conference room. The purpose of the Discovery Laptop is to review discovery, not to take or store notes. It is the Court’s understanding that the laptop has been pre-loaded with discovery materials but does not allow any functionality beyond reviewing those materials,” explained Judge Arun Subramanian in the order granting Combs the needed permission, according to the news outlet. The Bad Boy Records founder has been denied bail multiple times, with Judge Subramanian citing “evidence supporting a serious risk of witness tampering,” asserting Combs is a danger to the public if released
