A new judge has been assigned to preside over the criminal trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs the case was reassigned to Judge Arun Subramanian, first nominated by President Joe Biden in 2022 and took the bench in 2023. The trial was previously assigned to Judge Andrew Carter, who was nominated by President Barack Obama in 2011. Judge Subramanian is also ruling in the Department of Justice antitrust case against Ticketmaster, per Business Insider. Additionally, the new judge has allowed Combs’ legal team to push for bail a third time. Judge Carter twice denied releasing the Hip-Hop mogul and the ruling has been appealed.
