Schizophrenic Babysitter Confesses To Sexually Abusing And Killing Staten Island 16-Month-Old

The schizophrenic babysitter accused of sexually abusing and killing a 16-month-old boy made a videotaped confession in the little boy’s horrific death, sources said Wednesday.

Pill-popping Gloria Fields, 31, recounted her role in last Sunday’s death of Anthony Delgado after initially claiming the Staten Island toddler fell while playing in a park, sources said.

Police were expected to take the suspect for a Wednesday court appearance in the killing.

Fields texted the boy’s mother, Marta Delgado, at 6:41 p.m. Sunday about the supposed accident. Sources said Fields told police that Anthony seemed fine when she put him to bed around 9:30 p.m.

But once the case was ruled a homicide, Fields came clean about physically and sexually assaulting the helpless little boy, the sources said.

The vile babysitter also admitted inserting an unidentified object into the boy’s tiny body, the sources said. The Daily News previously reported that the child was bleeding was the rectum.

Marta Delgado, 25, left her son with Fields to take care of details for her move into a new apartment, police said.

Fields had nine previous arrests, including three in 2015 — two for petty larceny possession of stolen property, one for driving without a license.

Police said the accused killer was the subject of a call to cops to aid an emotionally disturbed person. She was also schizophrenic and wanted on an active bench warrant.

And police said Fields was high at the start of their interview, which began Sunday and continued for another two days until she was charged. Cops kept her in custody on the bench warrant for a traffic violation.
