Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Battery Factory Catches Fire

They didn't get the memo about the Note.

A fire apparently caused by a faulty battery occurred at a Samsung factory in China in the wake of a massive global recall of 2.5 million smartphones due to the problematic energy sources, Reuters reports.

Approximately 110 firefighters and 19 trucks responded to the blaze, which resulted in no casualties according to a Samsung spokesman.

In light of widespread issues with the battery of the Galaxy Note 7 suddenly combusting, everyone from airlines to the MTA urged users to turn their devices off while trying to get from point A to point B.

The South Korea-based techn monolith permanently ceased production of the device in October.

Located in the city of Tianjin, the Samsung SDI plant saw the fire break out Wednesday in an area used for faulty batteries and other types of waste.

According to a social media post made by a branch of the Tianjin Fire Department, the"material that caught fire was lithium batteries inside the production workshops and some half-finished products."
