Rumor: Tim Duncan's Wife Files For Divorce?

Tim Duncan is largely regarded as the greatest power forward the NBA has ever seen. His numbers are ridiculous with 20.2 PPG, 11.2 RPG, and 2.2 BPG spread out over an impressive 16-year career. He's done it all with championships, MVPs, and up to very recently been able to hold together a 12 years marriage with two children.

Unfortunately, it looks like the happy home is coming to an end for Timmy as papers were recently filed in Bexar county Texas that look like Tim and his wife Amy are getting a divorce. According to the San Antonio Express-News a divorce case was filed using the initials A.S.D. and T.T.D.. Tim's middle name is Theodore. The divorce request also asked that legal discovery in the case be postponed until after the Spurs season is over.

Further evidence that this paperwork belongs to Duncan is that T.T.D. and A.S.D. were also married at the same time as Tim and Amy, they have two children (names not listed) like Timmy, and the birthdays listed for the two children also match.

Clearly, Tim is trying to keep his divorce a private matter and wait until after the season, but for whatever reason Amy wanted it filed immediately. The question on everyone's mind now is what happened? Tim is known for being an incredibley upstanding Christian. Did he slip into infidelity? He's also known for being incredibly boring and a huge video game junkie. Did Amy simply get bored with the Big Fundamental?

The one thing we know for sure is that the cats out of the bag and with media frenzy has begun. It's difficult to see how this could not be a huge distraction for both Tim and the Spurs, a team and an individual not used to dealing with controversy.
