Robin Thicke Served With A Temporary Restraining Order

Robin Thicke has reportedly been barred from going near his ex-wife Paula Patton and their 6-year-old son after a Los Angeles judge issued a restraining order against the singer.

The judge temporarily removed Thicke's custody of the young boy, Julian, on Thursday and approved a domestic violence restraining order requested by Patton, TMZ reported. In addition to his ex-wife and Julian, the order requires Thicke to stay away from Patton's mother as well.

The legal action comes less than a month after Patton accused Thicke of child abuse, claiming to officials at Julian's school that the singer had spanked their son excessively.

"Over the past year, I have become concerned about (Thicke's) drinking and drug use, as well as the forms of punishment he is using to discipline Julian," Patton wrote in a court declaration earlier this month.

A Los Angeles judge previously shot down Patton's request to reduce her former husband's interaction with their son, but things changed Thursday when Thicke and Patton appeared in court.

Both Thicke and Patton appeared before the judge in a Los Angeles courtroom to ask for complete custody of Julian, and the judge reportedly sided with the boy's mother.

Thicke's lawyer, meanwhile, claims the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services is investigating Patton for potential emotional abuse, TMZ reported.

Thicke filed a declaration from his attorney stating that the Department of Children and Family Services informed him they're closing their investigation regarding the alleged spanking, deeming the claims "unfounded," according to the gossip site.

The "Blurred Lines" singer previously admitted to light-spanking as a form of punishment on an infrequent basis, and said Patton was okay with it.

"On a very rare occasion and only as a last resort, I will use light spanking, but it is consistent with the law - open hand on the butt," he said in his court declaration.

Patton and Thicke divorced in 2015 after 10 years of marriage.
