Rihanna swears there's no dis-chord between her and Beyoncé.
The "Work" singer shot down speculation that she dissed her fellow musical superstar when she liked a fan page's Instagram post complaining Rihanna deserved as many Grammy nominations as Beyoncé, chalking up the drama as one big misunderstanding.
"I never actually read your caption, thought the pic was funny and moved right along!" Rihanna commented on the same Instagram post. "Til I seen it pop up over and over!"
"I wish y'all would drop this topic and see things from the bigger picture!" she continued. "We don't need to be putting black women against each other! We deserve to be celebrated, and the Grammy Academy agrees!"
Rihanna received eight Grammy nominations during Tuesday morning's unveil, including one for Record of the Year for her club-favorite hit with Drake, "Work." She was not, however, named a finalist for either Song of the Year or Album of the Year, despite finally releasing her long-awaited album "Anti" in January.
Beyoncé, meanwhile, earned nine nominations overall to lead all artists and is a finalist in each of those three categories, prompting the editor of the Rihanna fan account to express their dismay online.
"Congrats and all to @badgalriri and all for her 8 Grammy nods but tbh f--k them because they snubbed her for Song of the Year and Album of the Year," the post reads.
"I think they didn't want her tied or passing someone else *cough cough,*" the caption continued, along with a lemon emoji presumably in reference to Beyoncé's "Lemonade" album. "Cause if they wouldn't have played her she would have been in the lead with the most Grammy nods."
Rihanna, who has won eight Grammys in her career, is signed to Beyoncé’s husband Jay Z's record label, Roc Nation, and has collaborated with both artists.
The Grammys take place on Feb. 12 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
