Rihanna's new love song is a work song.
The first single off the Barbadian singer’s highly anticipated new album dropped Wednesday — and it’s all about a dumped lover promising she’s ready to make everything right again.
“If I get another chance to, I will never, no never neglect you," she sings in the song, called "Work," which features Drake. "Please recognize I'm trying baby. I been work, work, work."
It’s unclear which failed relationship Rihanna is referencing. She was once romantically involved with Drake, and she’s also been linked to rapper Travis Scott, actor Leonardo DiCaprio and of course her famous on-again, off-again boyfriend Chris Brown.
The new song comes two days after Rihanna teased fans that she had finally finished her long-awaited album, "Anti," by tweeting a photo of herself wearing headphones and a gold crown similar to the one on the album cover.
"Listening to ANTI," she wrote.
Then on Tuesday, Billboard reported that the "We Found Love" singer was expected to release the album within the next week — and possibly even before Friday.
Rihanna has pushed back the release multiple times since she first announced she was working on an eighth studio album in 2014 — and she was reportedly still tinkering with tracks as recently as last month.
She dropped a pair of new songs in 2015 — "FourFiveSeconds" and "B---- Better Have My Money" — that were expected to be part of the "Anti" track listing, but the singer teased "Work" as its "first single" in a tweet on Wednesday.
Fans have long been clamoring for "Anti" to hit the shelves, as Rihanna hasn't released a new album since her mega-successful "Unapologetic" in 2012, which debuted at No. 1 and produced hits such as "Diamonds" and "Stay."
Rihanna's newest song, which premiered on Elvis Duran's Z100 radio show on Wednesday, is her third collaboration with Drake, following up "What's My Name" in 2010 and "Take Care" in 2011. The track can currently only be listened to on Jay Z's streaming service, Tidal.
