Rick Ross Sues LMFAO Over "Party Rock Anthem" Lyrics

Rick Ross is not amused at the word play in LMFAO's 2010 song "Party Rock Anthem."

The rapper filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against the group, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ross, 37, takes issue with LMFAO's lyric, "Every day I'm shuffln'," a nod to Ross' song "Hustlin'."

"The use of 'Hustlin' in 'Party Rock Anthem' is readily apparent, despite the slight change from 'Every day I'm hustlin'' to 'Every day I'm shufflin'' and constitutes, inter alia, the creation of an unauthorized derivative work," the lawsuit claims.

"The phrase is so important to the success of 'Party Rock Anthem,' that LMFAO launched a highly successful clothing line, Party Rock Clothing, that features the phrase on T-shirts and other clothing items," the filing continues.

Ross apparently feels that LMFAO fed off his fame to rocket themselves up the charts. He's seeking an injunction and maximum statutory damages.
