IN THE STREETS & ON THE WEB

When the Drake and Meek Mill battle first began, one of the first people a lot of folks wanted to hear from is Nicki Minaj, considering she has strong ties to both rappers. Clearly, another person who's opinion we were waiting on was Rick Ross,' since he discovered Meek and has collaborated with Drizzy on more than one occasion.

While Minaj has spoken out about the lyrical joust between both MCs, Ross hasn't said anything until today (Oct. 6), when he stopped by "The Breakfast Club" for an interview. In his opinion, the battle was good for hip-hop and it wasn't a real beef.

"At the end of the game for me, my position, I think this is what's good for the culture," he said. "Because coming up in this game, I've seen it, you've all seen it, you will have skirmishes. You will have scrimmages going for that No. 1 spot."

"And I feel like, really, by Meek Mill being my little brother and Drake being my little homey, I really feel like they was two little homeys that was in high school on the way from school and fought over a pair of Js ... And when the new Js come out they back cool," added Ross.

In addition, the newly engaged rapper said that he's not worried about the public's perception of Meek losing to Drake, because at this point the "Monster" spitter is making the best music of his life. Ross also said that people will eventually forget about the battle, and making good music is still the most important thing.

As to why Meek didn't respond to Drake's "Charged Up" and "Back to Back" sooner, Rozay said it was because of the global tour he was on.

"The little homey was on tour getting money," he explained. "With Meek Mill, you got to realize where Meek comes from, his story.

"Coming up from the streets, beating his cases, coming back to Philly, making it cool to be from Philly again, putting the city on his back, releasing a No. 1 album ... Got the baddest chick in the game. Can't put no more dates on the calendars. Who's losing? You tripping. You bugging," said Ricky.

As far as Ross' beef with 50 Cent, he said it's not personal but feels the G-Unit leader is weak. "I just feel homey is a shallow weak dude," he stated. "I'd probably be in my emotions as well if my first album was titled 'Get Rich or Die Tryin' and I filed bankruptcy."
