Rick Ross celebrated his 50th birthday with his A-list friends in Miami. He commemorated the milestone at South Beach Brewing Company & Taproom in Miami Beach with DJ Khaled, French Montana, Max B, and Memphis Bleek, among others. In various clips from the night, the crew was seen singing happy birthday to Rozay, and Khaled was seen giving a speech there was a white dress code that night, except for Ross, who wore black. Ross also posted a clip of himself and Khaled from that night, in which they gave advice to their fans and followers about success. “Listen, when it came to us doing what we do, we never hit the licks. We used to hear n***as come up to us in the industry, ‘I hit a lick,’” Ross said. “And nobody ever invited us to a lick. So, guess what we did? We made a whole lick,” Khaled responded. Ross continued, “I want y'all to understand that. When them n***as talking about, ‘I hit a lick,’ don't even fuck with them. Don't even ride in the car with them. Cause we ain't hit no licks. Ain't no licks in this shit, boy. Ain't no licks. We came in this shit before 2000. Khaled explained, “What we trying to say is, we never got invited to get a lick. We made our own lick. So if you hit a lick, and I'm sure you made your own lick, keep going.” “Don't even look at it like a lick, n***a. You earned that,” Ross added. “That's what I'm saying. You earned it,” Khaled said. “You put in the work. You got to show up first. You got to show up. And that's your own lick coming.
