Rick Ross has been accused of lying about the nature of his past work as a correctional officer after previously stating he only worked in a prison for four months. Internet personality 1090 Jake shared alleged paperwork on Instagram on that claims to reveal the MMG mogul was employed by the Department of Corrections in Florida for a year and a half. One document, purportedly signed by Ross (real name William Roberts), is dated December 29, 1995, while another is of him handing in his notice on June 2, 1997. There is also an alleged Certificate of Appreciation dated September 7, 1996, commemorating his service as “a perfect attendance employee. 1090 Jake, who has built a reputation for exposing rappers, gang members and other online personalities, dug up the paperwork in defense of Drake, who Rick Ross has been publicly feuding with in recent days. “Since he keep callin @champagnepapi a Whiteboy He woke the Real Whiteboy up [laughing emoji],” he wrote in his caption. “yall want this video?. He said he only lasted 4 months but the paperwork says 95-97 with a Perfect Attendance lmk.” The Teflon Don rapper quickly responded to the claims by digging up alleged police paperwork of his own and labeling Jake a “rat.”Rick Ross’ history as a correctional officer is no secret after it was brought up during the his high-profile feud with 50 Cent in the late 2000s. He spoke about his time working as a C.O. during a 2022 appearance on the Full Send Podcast. “Maybe when I was 20,” he said. “I didn’t really get to make it to the prison ’cause you gotta go through training and all that, and I didn’t last long. I may have lasted four months and they said I was a lil’ tardy.” Rozay has, however, previously said that he was employed as a correctional officer for 18 months, which would match up with Jake’s alleged documents.
