Rich Homie Quan is soon to be begging for One More Chance!
The rapper made a major oops when he forgot the lyrics to the late Notorious B.I.G's part in the Junior M.A.F.I.A, hit, "Get Money," during Monday's live broadcast of VH1's "Hip Hop Honors."
Quan, sporting one of Biggie's famous Coogi sweaters, joined Lil' Kim on stage when he started Big's verse, but then stopped the second line in.
Before going silent on the mic, Quan made things worse by changing the second line from "play Nintendo with Cease and Nino" to "play Nintendo with Cease at Alamo."
Rapper Lil Cease, a member of Biggie's Junior M.A.F.I.A., later created a meme poking fun of Quan’s slip up.
And naturally, the rest of social media jumped in.
“Rich Homie Quan sincerely just committed career suicide. Wow,” wrote one user.
Another added, "how you gone on national television and forget Biggie lyrics? and Get Money lyrics at that? lmfao Rich Homie Quan a joke. #HipHopHonors."
On Tuesday, talk show queen and hip-hop radio pioneer Wendy Williams blasted the rapper on her show.
"When you're doing a tribute you always study the lyrics, dummy!" she said.
To be fair, Quan, born Dequantes Devontay Lamar, was only 6-years-old when the Junior M.A.F.I.A anthem was released, and 8-years-old when Biggie was murdered in 1997.
Still, he may want use a teleprompter next time.
His Biggie blunder sparked the trending Twitter hashtags, #Biggielyricsmatter and #RichhomieKaraoke.
Hours later, the rapper apologized and blamed the flub on technical difficulties and a sudden flood of nerves.
"I greatly apologize not only to Biggie Smalls, but also to all of my fans, Biggie Smalls' fans and to New York," he said in a statement. "The city of New York has been nothing but good to me. I felt honored to stand on stage with artists I grew up listening to."
"I will forever be sorry New York ... I hope you can accept my apology," he continued.
