Britney Spears is getting scrutinized Down Under.
The Australian government wants to make sure that concertgoers realize the pop star will be lip-synching parts of her concerts, reports People.

Virginia Judge, the Minister for Fair Trading for New South Wales (an Australian state that includes Sydney) is protecting fans from being misled when buying tix to the Circus tour—especially with some seats running more than $1,300.
"It is Britney's 'prerogative' to lip-sync, and it is my job to make sure consumers know what they are paying for up front," says Judge in a statement released by the Aussie government.

One option the minister is considering would require disclaimers on promotional materials and tickets indicating that portions of the show will be pre-recorded.

It’s an open secret that many touring artists, including dancing diva Spears, lip-synch during elaborate numbers in their stage shows.

Granted, the Australian initiative hasn’t had too much effect on ticket sales, as many of Brit’s shows have already sold out.

"Personally I would rather see a live set from a local artist," Judge says, "but I am sure Britney's fans will be treated to a spectacular show."
