Ray J pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges he groped a woman and resisted arrest during a wild night out at a posh Beverly Hills hotel.
Famous for his 2007 sex tape with former girlfriend Kim Kardashian, the actor-singer entered the plea through his lawyer Blair Berk, a court source told the Daily News.
The misdemeanor case is set to return to court Aug. 28, shortly before Ray J – whose real name is William Ray Norwood Jr. – appears as a cast member of VH1’s new reality show “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood.”
It was last month that prosecutors charged Norwood, 33, with sexual battery on an unidentified woman, vandalism of a police car, battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.
The charges date back to a May 30 incident at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel where he allegedly brushed up against a woman’s backside at the hotel bar.
Prosecutors claim he willfully touched the woman’s “intimate part” for the “specific purpose of sexual arousal, sexual gratification and sexual abuse.”
Police responded and initially let him leave after they determined the touching was accidental.
He was busted a short time later for allegedly becoming belligerent with staff and spitting on officers — even kicking out and shattering a cop car’s window after being cuffed and stuffed in the back of the cruiser, police said.
Ray J told TMZ he’d become “claustrophobic” and kicked out the window in a panic.
Norwood is the brother of singer-actress Brandy Norwood and will star in “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood" along with YouTube sensation Soulja Boy when the new show debuts Sept. 15, VH1 said Monday.
The show will highlight Norwood’s budding relationship with his best friend and executive assistant Morgan Hardman.
