Fetty Wap might be missing an eye, but he isn't missing a heart.
The New Jersey rapper, 25, who lost his right eye to congenital glaucoma, inspired Jayden Vaden of Denver, Colo., to give wearing his prosthetic eye a rest.
The 10-year-old has worn an eye replacement since he was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma — a rare eye cancer that affects children — when he was just a year old and has been "terrified of taking it out," the child's mother, Brenda Vaden said.
Vaden shared a photo of her confident son — who smiled proudly sans his prosethetic eye — on Instagram.
"All I wanna do is show people that it's not how you look or what you see — it's how you see it and what you're looking for from yourself," said the rapper, whose eponymous debut album drops next week. "I appreciate his confidence."
The mother was overjoyed after Fetty Wap left the touching comment. "Jayden has been on cloud 9. #ThankYouFettyWap for taking the time out of your busy day to leave a note for Jayden. You are awesome."
The mother hopes her posts will inspire other children battling the disease to embrace their differences.
