Brooklyn-born rapper Casanova is expected to turn himself in to police Wednesday for allegedly attacking a woman at a Greenwich Village diner because he thought she was filming him.
Niya Rucker filed a complaint against the “Don’t Run” rapper, whose given name is Caswell Senior, as well as his entourage, saying they left her with a broken jaw Aug. 6 at the Good Stuff Diner on West 14th Street off Sixth Avenue, police sources said.
Rucker was filming her meal on Instagram live around 4:40 a.m. when the rapper and his crew spotted her and mistakenly thought she was taping them, she told the Daily Mail.
One of her assailants allegedly put her in a chokehold while the rapper snatched her phone and allegedly deleted the post, she told cops.
“Casanova adamantly denies the allegation that he assaulted anyone,” said the rapper’s defense lawyer Scott Leemon. “Any contention he did so is totally false. We are in the process of conducting our own investigation into these false allegations.”
Rucker allegedly needed four stitches to her face.
