The case behind R. Kelly‘s alleged relations with young women seems to get more shocking each day, but the singer is speaking out to defend his side of the story. After Jerhonda Johnson Pace told BuzzFeed that she had a sexual relationship with the veteran songwriter when she was a teenager, Kellz’s team is denying the allegations against him.
The now-24-year-old claims that she met the singer as a fan back in 2008, outside of the Chicago courtroom when he was on trial for child pornography charges. She says that they began a sexual relationship when she was 16 years old, and was paid to keep quiet about their alleged interactions.
According to CNN, R. Kelly’s publicist, Trevian Kutti, is releasing a statement from the singer denying the allegations.
“The allegations against Mr. Kelly are false, and are being made by individuals known to be dishonest,” Kuti says in the statement. “It is clear these continuing stories are the result of the effort of those with personal agendas who are working in concert to interfere with and damage his career,” the statement read. “Mr. Kelly again denies any and all wrong doing and is taking appropriate legal action to protect himself from ongoing defamation.”
If you recall, in July, BuzzFeed originally reported that Kellz was running an abusive “sex cult.” Parents claimed he was allegedly holding multiple women hostage in both his Atlanta home, as well as his Chicago studio, after promising to help advance their careers.
While the R&B star has denied the allegations, along with a video message being released of one woman, who claims to be “fine,” multiple women have been coming forward to try and confirm the allegations.
So far, there is no criminal investigation taking place against Kellz in Georgia, but if more allegations come forward, things may change in the near future.
