R. Kelly is on the hook for more than $200,000 in repairs for allegedly trashing two Georgia homes he’d rented, a new lawsuit against the Grammy-winning artist claims.
The embattled “Ignition” singer moved out of the pair of properties — a 23-room manse on Old Homestead Trail in Johns Creek and a more modest four-bedroom home on Saint Devon Crossing in Duluth — in February but left a mess behind, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
The mansion, which Kelly rented for $10,000 a month, suffered “extensive damage” and couldn’t be leased out again until repairs were made. SB Property Management Global listed a host of issues at the home — damaged electrical work, the need to refinish flooring and carpet in many of the rooms, two broken windows and damage to the theater, study, fitness room, cigar room, bathrooms, kitchen and living room.
Items such as the stove, bedroom furniture, pillows, a table, six mirrors, 22 light fixtures and ceiling fans were missing, according to the suit, which was filed Wednesday in Fulton County court.
The $3,000-a-month home on Saint Devon Crossing was also filled with trash and had two broken windows.
In April, SB Property Management agreed that it wouldn’t hold the 51-year-old responsible for any “claims arising from damages” so long as he paid $170,000 toward the damage. But he only paid $20,000 toward that.
Now, the property group is going after Kelly for $203,400 in total damages.
The Georgia homes were “ransacked” in 2017 by Kelly’s former associate, Alfonso L. Walker, who was later charged with theft and burglary, the Constitution reported.
The Constitution wasn’t able to reach Kelly or his rep.
Earlier this year, Kelly — who was arrested on child pornography charges in 2003 but later acquitted — was accused of running a sex cult out of his homes in Chicago and Johns Creek and “grooming” young girls.
He’s denied the allegations.
