Music Legend Quincy Jones won’t take a turn at the witness microphone after all.
The super producer, 79, was set to testify this week at a slander trial pitting casino tycoon Steve Wynn against soft porn mogul Joe Francis, but a judge relieved him of the duty, citing a doctor’s recommendation.
In a written order, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Joanne O’Donnell granted Jones’ request “in light of the declarations of Mr. Jones and his physician.”
The award-winning composer was dragged into the court battle because he’s a Francis neighbor and allegedly showed the founder of “Girls Gone Wild” an email suggesting Wynn wanted Francis dead.
Wynn, 70, denies such an email exists and is suing Francis, 39, for damage to his reputation and emotional distress.
