A Queens drug dealer who nearly ran over two cops needed to blow off some steam afterward — so he went clubbing, police sources said Thursday.
One of the two men who tried to kill narcotics cops following a Wednesday night car stop in Jamaica was nabbed at a Merrick Blvd. nightclub hours after the nearly fatal confrontation, officials said.
Karl Bryant, 36, was in the passenger seat of a black Nissan Altima that an NYPD narcotics team stopped at a Gulf station on Merrick Blvd. near 220th St. following a drug transaction about 8:10 p.m. Wednesday.
But as cops approached, the driver threw the car in reverse, nearly hitting one officer. He then raced forward, narrowly missing another cop.
One of the officers fired a single shot, officials said. Bryant wasn't hit, but it was not clear if the driver had been wounded, police sources said.
Cops did a thorough canvass of the area in the hours that followed the stop, and ultimately tracked Bryant down to Club Elite — about three miles from the shooting — about 3 a.m.
The driver was still at large and being sought.
The Nissan Altima sped off and was last seen dashing down 220th St., officials said.
Charges were pending, officials said.
Yo! Who goes to the club after trying to kill cops?
