Producer Takes All The Credit For Paternity Court

“Lauren Lake’s Paternity Court” won at the Daytime Emmy Awards over the weekend, but Lake didn’t get to express her gratitude in an acceptance speech.

Instead, creator and executive producer David Armour gave a full-length speech upon being handed the trophy and then failed not only to thank Lake but also to give her any time on the mic to express her gratitude. Social media, of course, didn’t miss the moment.

“You deserved your accolades!! You are the face of your show! You are why we all watch DAILY!!!! Not some random person who had the audacity to not even thank YOU!!!” tweeted one fan.

“Obnoxious twit producer completely ignores the key to the show’s success._Judge Lauren Lake!,” wrote another.

Judge Lake, 49, finally addressed the elephant in the room on Twitter with a video message for her followers.

“I just wanted you to know that I am fully aware of how upset you are that when ‘Paternity Court’ won the Emmy … I did not get a chance to speak to you from the stage,” she said. “I want you to know that I’ve already started some very serious conversations with my team, and we’re going to be meeting in the near future to discuss this further.

“More importantly,” she continued, “I want you to know like anything else, I’m going to have a real, honest conversation. I’m going to ask tough questions, get answers and most importantly get to the truth and the results.”
