Prince To Guest Star On "New Girl" Episode

The Super Bowl party continues! Prince is set to guest star on Zooey Deschanel's Fox comedy "New Girl" in a new episode airing directly after the pigskin brawl.

The music legend will appear in a role important to the relationship between Deschanel's character Jess and Jake Johnson's character Nick, and apparently — it was all his idea.

"He contacted us last season because he's a huge fan," executive producer Brett Baer told E! News.

"He knows everything about the show. He contacted Zooey and Hannah [Simone] directly and asked to do the show. We couldn't work it out last year. But when the Super Bowl thing was floated, it was perfect timing."

Prince, 55, will appear a himself in an episode about a mansion party that Jess and her friends will try to crash, according to the Associated Press.

The Purple One even has some impressive comedy chops, according to producer David Finkel.

"He's genuinely funny," Finkel told E! News.

"He's got a very quiet, wry sense of humor but he kills… He has crazy comic instincts."
