The Grammy’s Hall of Fame inductees were announced Monday (Nov. 28), and Prince, N.W.A, and the Jackson 5 made the cut, Billboard reports. The legendary artists join the award ceremony’s class of 2017 list ahead of the show’s February air date.
The hall of fame committee requires that the songs be at least 25 years old. N.W.A’s “Straight Outta Compton” was among the songs inducted, along with Prince’s 1987 track “Sign O’ The Times” and The Jackson 5’s 1970 hit, “ABC.” The list also included the late David Bowie’s “Changes,” “Lady Sings The Blues” by Billie Holiday, and songs from Elvis Presley and Louis Armstrong and his Orchestra.
All of the inductees will be honored at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards during a live broadcast from the L.A. Staples Center on Feb. 12, 2017.
