Call him the Author Formerly Known as Prince.
The Purple One will pen a memoir that begins — of course — with his very first memory, he announced Friday night during a show in New York City.
“This is my first one. My brother Dan is helping me with it. He’s a good critic and that's what I need. He’s not a ‘yes’ man at all and he’s really helping me get through this,” Prince told a crowd that included “Daily Show” host Trevor Noah and Harry Belafonte.
“We’re starting from the beginning from my first memory and hopefully we can go all the way up to the Super Bowl,” he added. “You all still read books, right?”
The new Prince-cyclopedia, tentatively titled “The Beautiful Ones,” is scheduled to debut in fall 2017 from publisher Spiegel & Grau, an imprint of Random House.
This “unconventional and poetic journey through his life and creative work,” publishers said, will tell stories about his music, family and creative inspiration.
“Millions of words have been written about Prince — books and articles, essays and criticism — but we’re thrilled to be publishing Prince’s powerful reflections on his own life in his own incandescently vivid, witty, and poetic voice,” acquiring editor Chris Jackson told Entertainment Weekly in a statement.
The “Little Red Corvette” singer’s announcement comes just five months after he debuted “Princestagram,” a punny new Instagram account he populated with almost 100 promo pics, fan art and concert shots within its first three days.
The 57-year-old Minneapolis native has also cranked out four albums over the last year and a half — most recently releasing "HITnRUN Phase One" and "HITnRUN Phase Two" on Jay Z’s flailing streaming service, Tidal.
