Want to feel like Neptune — or at least a former member of the Neptunes?
Rapper and producer Pharrell Williams has listed his three-floor Miami penthouse for $16.8 million with the real estate group The Jills, who handle high-end South Florida properties.
Williams bought the pad in 2007 from the developer for just over $12.5 million, according to the Real Estalker blog. It’s got five bedrooms and 360 degree views of the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay. There’s even a pool on one of the balconies.
“Living your life 40 floors up, looking out every day on ocean and skies, you see the world from a different point of view,” Williams told W Magazine in 2011. “It’s like living in a very interesting fishbowl, but since no one can see up here, it’s like a fishbowl with a limo tint.”
W Magazine visited the home and took in Williams’ self-described “kidult” style, which included swank designer Christian Liaigre armchairs pulled up to a low Ms. Pac Man videogame table. Williams mixed pieces from artists like Keith Haring and Takashi Murakami with giant paintings of “Family Guy” characters.
Don’t forget that Williams has business dealings outside of music — including ventures into designing clothing, jewelry and furniture. Maybe some of Williams’ own furniture creations could be included in the deal. His Perspective chair is quite the conversation piece — it places a mid-century-modern-style seat on legs that are shaped like human ones — female feet with pointed toes in the front, and male feet with flat feet in the back that suggests a certain sexual position.
No word of why Williams wants to sell the place now or where he’s moving. He still owns a waterfront house in his hometown of Virginia Beach, Va. according to the Real Estalker.
