You know when you just can't get enough of your favorite song?
Well, a San Francisco radio station has the same problem and has been playing Nelly's "Hot in Herre" on an endless loop for nearly 48 hours continuously.
The 2002 hit has been played over and over on a loop since 3 p.m. Friday.
It prompted speculation on Twitter, with the loop even getting its own hashtag, #Nelly1057.
Twitter user Jeb Lund posted on Sunday that "24 hours ago I could only remember the chorus of this, now I could spit out every lyric while doing a crossword and not miss a thing."
Another, Commish O'hangin,' claimed that "'good gracious asses bodacious' is one of the most meaningful lines in music."
It led to speculation that a disgruntled DJ had quit or a broadcast had been hijacked.
It turns out the reason is a little more cynical.
The Nelly loop, reports Rolling Stone, was unleashed on an unsuspecting public to advertise the relaunch of a radio station: Latino Mix FM 105.7 is being rebranded as Hot 105.7.
Such a publicity move is known as "stunting" and has been used by others, including a Toronto station that courageously played Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" for a full week.
