Seems there's no stopping MTV's "Jersey Shore" when it comes to viewers.
Bucking a trend of shows dipping as they get older, Thursday's third season launch of "Jersey Shore" was watched by 8.45 million viewers to become MTV's most-watched series telecast ever.
That's up from the 6.1 million the show averaged with its second season finale.
The new season has the cast of the wacky reality show back in Seaside Heights, NJ, after spending the second season in Miami.
It also includes the arrival of a of a new housemate, Deena Nicole Cortese, who based on the early going will shake up the energy on the series.
Also back are Nicole (Snooki) Polizzi, Mike (The Situation) Sorrentino, Jenni (JWoww) Farley, Ronnie Magro, Sammi (Sweetheart) Giancola, Paul (DJ Pauly D) Del Vecchio and Vinny Guadagnino.
Thursday night's episode was watched by 6.5 million viewers between the ages of 12 and 34 — the networks target crowd. That's up 63% from the second season launch.
