OH! NO! FEDS SEIZE MORE THAN A TON OF WEED HIDDEN IN HOT SAUCE BOXES FROM MEXICO!

A Mexican drug-runner got burned by federal agents near San Diego while trying to smuggle a ton of marijuana hidden in a shipment of hot sauce.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents busted the 39-year-old man at the Otay Mesa cargo facility on Friday driving a tractor-trailer stuffed with brown boxes, officials announced Tuesday.

The Tijuana smuggler claimed the boxes were filled with hot sauce, but officers operating the facility's x-ray system suspected that some contained herbs, not spices.

After unloading the boxes, agents found more than 2,300 pounds of pot in 123 packages, along with the bottles of hot sauce, officials said.

Customs agents said the shipment was worth more than $1.4 million.

The driver was arrested and his truck and the drugs were seized, officials said.
