Coke is going mini!
In an effort to embrace consumers' healthier lifestyles, the soda company announced Tuesday they will debut a 7.5 ounce can in December.

The new mini Coke has only 90 calories per can, which is 50 calories less than the 12-ounce can.

"The Coca-Cola mini can is a great option for smaller thirst occasions, and for calorie-conscious consumers," Hendrik Steckhan, president and general manager, Sparkling Beverages, Coca-Cola North America said in a statement.

In a promotional video, the company even has a registered dietician named Jan Tilley gush about the health benefits.

"The new 90-calorie mini-can is a great way for people who like Coca-Cola to enjoy the taste with built-in portion control. A treat or a favorite food or beverage is a wonderful way to ensure that you're going to be able to practice a healthy lifestyle for life," she says.

But as Slate.com points out, those who are trying to keep up with their old caffeine habits and drink two mini cans are out of luck, as you would then exceed the 12 ounce can's 140 calories and jump to 180 calories.
