Migos rapper Offset was detained at a Los Angeles shopping center Wednesday after authorities received a call claiming someone was carrying a gun in the parking lot.
Shortly after 7 p.m. PT, a caller alleged the rapper and a group of people were walking around The Grove lot with a weapon, police confirmed. The person who was said to be carrying the gun fled the scene while Cardi B’s husband, 28, and the rest of the group were detained by security.
Authorities recovered two guns from the scene. Offset and three others were then taken to the station for further questioning. Ultimately, Offset was released just before midnight after two members of his crew said the weapons were theirs.
Demetris Carter was booked for carrying a concealed firearm, and Tremaine Benson was booked for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
Following his release, the “Clout” rapper told TMZ the situation was a misunderstanding and he has nothing but “love” for the LAPD.
