It turns out the newest Apple smart phones haven't wised up to daylight saving time yet.
The California-based company advised American iPhone and iPod users to manually reset alarms to avoid a glitch that made millions of users in Europe late for work last week.
Any devices that use the mobile operating system iOS 4.1 are likely to have their alarms go off at the incorrect time because the iPhones don't recognize the end of daylight saving time, the Associated Press reported.
"We suggest customers set nonrepeating alarms for now and reset after November 7 to resolve the issue," an Apple spokesperson told CNN.
Europeans - who switch their clocks forward a week before Americans do - were shocked last week when their trusty alarms didn't go off. In September, users in Australia and New Zealand had the same problem when they switched their clocks.
Apple said it would come out with a software fix soon.
