Nipsey Hussle’s Brother Backs Sister For Guardianship Of His Daughter

Nipsey Hussle‘s siblings are sticking together in the fight for the legal guardianship of the late rapper’s 10-year-old daughter, Emani Asghedom.

Hussle’s brother Samiel Asghedom filed a declaration of support in favor of his sister Samantha Smith on April 30, according to documents obtained by The Blast. He claims to have “personal knowledge of the facts set forth in this declaration.”

Smith requested to be Emani’s legal guardian so that she can “can continue to live with family members with whom she has always had close ties.”

In the initial petition, Hussle’s father Dawit Asghedom also supported Smith looking after his granddaughter.

It is unclear whether Emani’s mother, Tanisha Foster, also known as Chyna Hussle, currently has full-time custody of her daughter. However, in December, she posted a photo of Emani wearing a uniform on her way to school, which shows she is still a part of her life.

According to The Mercury News, legal experts have said that Foster would either have to agree to let Smith be Emani’s guardian, or Smith or someone else would have to prove that Foster is unfit to care for her child.

Hussle, whose real name was Ermias Asghedom, also left behind a 2-year-old son, Kross Asghedom, with longtime girlfriend Lauren London.
