She's come a long way from her reality star days and now celebrity designer Nicole Richie is following in the footsteps of big name designers such as Giambattista Valli and Karl Lagerfeld by designing a range for department store Macy's.
Launching in 100 Macy's stores and on macys.com in September, Richie's limited edition collection will be the latest designer teamup to hit the retailer's contemporary fashion Impulse department.
It will include 1970s-influenced silhouettes and prints, with items including maxis, asymmetrical skirts, cropped tops and fitted jackets -- allowing shoppers to recreate the style icon's bohemian chic aesthetic at an affordable price ($49 -- $149).
"I am thrilled to have this opportunity to work with Macy's and create a collection that channels the individual artist in all of us," said Richie.
Thanks to her jewelry line House of Harlow 1960 and Winter Kate women's collection, Richie is one of a rare few celebs-turned designers, along with the likes of Victoria Beckham and the Olsen twins, to have been embraced by the fashion world. She is currently a mentor on NBC's design reality show Fashion Star.
Other designers to have previously teamed up with Macy's include Matthew Williamson and Kinder Aggugini. SOURCE
