In the clip, Minaj -- clad in a black fishnet and leather ensemble with a pair of spike-studded heels to match -- runs through her recent single while staring into the self-facing camera on her phone. Clips of her lounging on a couch beneath a hot pink neon "NICKI" sing and footage of her strolling backstage are mixed in with the self-shot footage, giving "Chun Li" a direct-to-video vibe that's definitely on demand.
The outfit appears to be the same one Minaj wore to a Lakers game on April 10, which indicates she recorded the clip merely hours after she announced that "Chun Li" and "Barbie Tingz" would officially be ushering in a new era for the rapper.
"Barbie Tingz" and "Chun Li" -- along with her unfiltered interview with Beats 1 and her collaboration with Young Thug, "Anybody" -- kicked Twitter into overdrive this week, as the social media platform has counted over a million tweets inspired by Minaj's current projects in the hours since she teased the arrival of her new material.
Shortly before posting the "Chun Li" video, she also hinted that she could be unveiling tour dates sooner rather than later, so who knows: Minaj could be getting ready for her next close-up in a city near you, and soon.
