Nicki Minaj Clarifies Her Relationship Status With Meek Mill

When Onika Tanya Maraj (better known as Nicki Minaj) speaks, you'd better listen — and listen well.

After a Facebook Live chat on Wednesday, during which Minaj commented that she’d rather say, "I’m single," a number of media outlets ran the soundbite as a headline. While most stories later offered context to the quote and confirmed the Pinkprint artist was still dating rapper Meek Mill, some fans fell for the clickbait and apparently flooded Minaj with inquiries about her relationship status.

In response, Minaj took to Instagram to set the record straight — with her fans and aggregating news sites. "#They don't want me to write this caption," she began.

"It would be very remiss of you to not watch what I said about Valentine’s Day prior to writing or believing a headline about my comment," she said in reference to her subsequent remarks about keeping her relationship more private and eschewing social media posts about how she and Meek celebrated. (Note: It included spending all day in bed.)

"I'm not single," she continued. "Thank you for coming out…"
