Nicki Minaj‘s fiancé Kenneth Petty is sticking right by her side.
The couple celebrated the launch of Minaj’s Fendi collaboration on Tuesday night, both sporting flashy silver looks from the designer collection.
While the 36-year-old “Chun-Li” rapper chose a metallic fishnet dress over a logo-covered silver bikini ($590) and carried a matching mini bag ($1,980), 41-year-old Petty wore a T-shirt printed with Minaj’s face ($890) underneath a silver bomber jacket ($6,500) and accessorized with a metallic hat ($1,290) and matching sneakers ($850).
“I want to make clothes that make girls with my body look sexy,” Minaj told Elle ahead of the release of her line, which is available globally today. “What I want [to tell] girls is not necessarily, ‘Go and gain weight and have a big booty,’ but ‘If you do have curves, be proud of it, flaunt it — love the skin you’re in.’”
Minaj and Petty obtained a marriage license in August and have one month to marry before it expires. Though the rapper said she will have a small legal ceremony and a larger party later on, she isn’t stressing over her dress or the details for the celebration.
“When I was little, I always imagined princess and marriage and the wedding and now it’s more to me about the life, the future, the love, the partnership, than the wedding,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “[It’s] so strange cause I didn’t expect myself to be one of those people who didn’t care about the hoopla, but I really don’t.”
Minaj made her romance with Petty Instagram official last December; their relationship began drawing criticism after it was revealed he was a registered sex offender and was convicted for the attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl.
The rapper has since changed her Twitter handle to “Mrs. Petty,” stated that she would retire to focus on building a family (and then took back the abrupt announcement) and rapped about their relationship in multiple recent songs, including “Fendi.”
Minaj did say that she has a “dope designer” for her wedding gown; all clues point to someone in the Fendi family.
