Nicki Minaj knows how to get back “Your Love.”
The Queens-raised singer who disappointed many fans in June after pulling out last minute as headliner of Hot 97's Summer Jam concert will make good to her fans by holding a free concert August 14 in at a secret location in New York, the genre-crossing rapper tweeted Thursday night.
“We are excited to offer the first 1,500 fans the opportunity to attend the show,” the website linked from her Twitter profile read. “You must line-up at the venue no earlier than 12 noon at the secret location. The first 1,500 fans in line will receive wrist bands, that will guarantee access to the event.”
Minaj backed out of the annual hip-hop show in June when Peter Rosenberg, an on-air personality for the radio station Hot 97, blasted her poppy single, “Starships.”
"I know there's some chicks here waiting to sing 'Starships' later. I'm not talking to y'all right now," Rosenberg said at a pre-concert festival in the parking lot of MetLife Stadium the day of the concert. "F--- that bulls---. I'm here to talk about real hip-hop s--."
Soon thereafter, the head of Minaj’s label, Lil' Wayne, yanked her from the lineup and the singer followed command.
"I go above and beyond for my fans. But won't ever go against wayne's word. What he says, goes," she tweeted at the time.
She was then criticized for the cancellation and for angrily firing back at Rosenberg.
NICKI MINAJ ON PULLING OUT FROM HOT 97 SUMMER JAM CONCERT AFTER DEEJAY’S DIS: ‘I DON’T GOTTA SHOW ANYONE S---’
"I don't gotta show anyone s---. I don't have to show s---," she said. "I'm going to show you by what I don't do, and what I don't do is perform in a place that people don't respect me. If the fans say one thing, let the fans say it, but you don't interject that thought into people's minds before I come on stage."
Here’s to hoping no one pisses the bad chick off before the show this time.
