Latto just releases her latest album, Sugar Honey Iced Tea, but Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice fans clowned the Atlanta rapper for her low first-week sales projections the LP will likely sell just under 27,000 album-equivalent units in its first week and land at No. 17 on the Billboard 200. This will mark a 4,000-unit jump from her 2022 album 777, but still is viewed as low numbers in the Hip-Hop space to some fans. Minaj and Spice’s fans jumped at the opportunity to discuss that, especially given the “Big Mama” rapper’s feuds with both artists over the last two years. “LMFAOOOOOOO FLOPPED LIKE EVE[R]Y ALBUM SHE HAS EVER DROPPED,” one fan wrote. “That’s it? HELP,” another fan wrote. Another fan compared her first-week sales to the Bronx rapper’s 28,000 units brought in by her recent album Y2K!, writing, “20 songs with big features and not outselling ice? This sales battle marks the latest chapter in Latto and Ice Spice’s back-and-forth throughout 2024. It began in January when Spice subliminally dissed the two-time Grammy nominee on “Think U The Sh*t (Fart).” Latto replied on her fiery track “Sunday Service,” daring the “Munch (Feelin’ U)” rapper to get in the booth and address her directly. She continued addressing the shots months later by posting a photo of a cake that was designed like the poop emoji. The cake said “Holy sh*t, you’re headlining” and her caption read “Think I’m the sh*t, bi**h???” In perhaps the biggest moment of “clocking tea,” Latto named her latest album Sugar Honey Iced Tea which, when turned into an acronym, reads “SH*T.” In recent interviews, both artists denied having serious beef with the other person. As for Nicki Minaj, she hasn’t had any confrontation with Latto since October 2022. The Queens rapper was frustrated that “Super Freaky Girl” wasn’t considered for any Rap categories by the GRAMMYs. She believed that Latto’s hit “Big Energy” should also be left out if her song was omitted from those categories. They eventually directly replied to one another on X, which led to Minaj claiming her foe had ghostwriters.
