Some say he can be the next Big Pun, and while rapper RNR appreciates the compliment, he stays steady on his grustle to be the next Spanish rapper to rep N.Y.C. RNR can remember his mother being a very important component in keeping him grounded and trying to keep him on the straight path, but little did she know RNR had already began hanging out with some of the street hustlers who had embraced him as one of there own. Normally, everyone who has experience the street life coming from Brooklyn stem from areas like Bedford Stuyvesant, East New York, or some project complex infested with drugs, but for rapper RNR his story began in Parkslope, Brooklyn where on the outside looking in people might assume that it’s the crème de la crème of neighborhoods, but for RNR and his mother, life was much harder on the inside. As he continued to watch his mother struggling to make ends meet on a salary she was getting from working in a Hallmark store, all RNR was able to do was look at the hip-hop video and only dream he could live the lifestyle of what he saw from rappers like Jay-Z, Big Pun, Biggie, Nas, and DMX, and little did he know he would pay a great price for that lifestyle. As early as age 14 RNR began to hustle, and adapt the lifestyle of the street hustler, and as years passed he felt his pockets was getting a little low in Brooklyn, and decided to go the out-of-town route to sell drugs by 18, and by age 22 he was being tried in the state of Connecticut for Strong Armed robbery where he was sentenced to 2 years in prison.
The 2 year bid did little to effect the street hustler spirit, and after his release in 2000, he went right back to hustling for 8 months until he was arrested again and tried on cocaine charges and possession of a firearm where he was sentenced to 4 years in prison. While in prison RNR finally realized that hustling was not the way to go and he finally made a decision to stop all together and focus on what he really wanted to do, rap. Upon his release in 2004 RNR decided to make his dream of rapping a reality and after his parole ended in 2008 now he’s finally free to move about as he pleases. Currently RNR is working hard in the studio to bring to life his new mixtape project hosted DJ Rob-E-Rob, and with his new songs “Over” ft Kool G Rap, and “Royalty” ft Kimani Marley he is sure to gain attention, and bring that new young Spanish aura back to the game, so be on the look out for your new Brooklyn rapper with a Spanish twist to hit your ear waves, because you haven’t heard rap like this before.
