NELSON MANDELA'S GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER IS KILLED IN A CAR CRASH ON HER WAY HOME FROM THE OPENING OF THE WORLD CUP COMPETITION!

JOHANNESBURG - The World Cup opener in Soccer City received a tragic jolt early Friday morning when it was reported that one of Nelson Mandela's nine great-grandchildren, Zenani Mandela, 13, had been killed in a one-car accident on her way home from the Kickoff Celebration concert in Soweto on Thursday night.
It had been hoped that Mandela, 91, would attend the opener between South Africa and Mexico. The Nelson Mandela Foundation announced the death, indicating the country’s great political hero was mourning the tragedy and was unlikely to go to the match.

"The family has asked for privacy as they mourn the tragedy," the foundation stated.

Several local reports indicated the driver of the car had been intoxicated and was arrested. A police spokesperson said a case of probable vehicular homicide had been opened. Zenani had just turned 13 last week.
