NBA YoungBoy just received one of the highest honors a city can give. While performing in Kansas City on his MASA Tour, the 25-year-old rapper was surprised with an official proclamation declaring September 21st as NBA YoungBoy Day. In a ceremony before his performance, he was presented with the Key to the City by National Criminal Justice Advocate Donte West, who delivered the honor on behalf of Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas. The city’s proclamation recognized YoungBoy not only for his music but also for his community outreach. Specifically, it noted how he used his presidential pardon from Donald Trump to elevate “Stop The Violence” campaigns and support underserved communities. Fans showed up and showed out for the Louisiana native without a single issue, continuing a streak of smooth tour stops. That’s a big deal for an artist often in headlines for the wrong reasons.
