Nas Pays Tribute To Protégé Kiing Shooter On Instagram

Rap legend Nas has paid tribute to his Queens protégé Kiing Shooter, who died this week, reportedly of complications from the coronavirus.

“This is never easy. One of Queensbridge’s finest,” Nas’ Street Dreams Records, Nas’ label with his brother Jungle, wrote on Instagram Tuesday when confirming the 24-year-old rising star’s death.

“Rest in paradise,” they told the rapper, whose real name was William Daniels.

Nas also paid personal tribute to the Queensbridge Houses up-and-comer Tuesday, saying they “shared our street dreams”

“What a pleasure to have you, in our lives, in this world, in our world,” he wrote, saying the young hopeful “made [his] mark.”

“What a pleasure to have you, in our lives, in this world, in our world,” the “NY State of Mind” star wrote.

Neither Nas nor his label announced the cause of death. However, sources told AllHipHop and HipHopDX that he succumbed to complications from the coronavirus along with preexisting liver problems.

Daniels had posted a photo of himself in a hospital bed on April 24.

“This Can’t Be Life … I Said Henny Was Stronger Than The Rona I Ain’t Kno It Was That Strong … No More Drinkin For Me” he wrote.

Later that same day he also insisted, “Watch How I Bounce Bacc 10x Stronger.”

An impromptu vigil for him at Queensbridge was broken up by cops Tuesday.
