NAS MANAGER SAYS HE'S NOT STARTING A NEW LABEL!

During an interview with MTV’s RapFix Live, Tyga said that recent collaborator Nas had started a new label called Kings and Queens. However, Nas’ manager, Anthony Saleh, tells XXLMag.com no such endeavor exists.

The Young Money rapper, who recently dropped his sophomore effort, Careless World: Rise of the Last King, tapped the Queens vet for a feature on his song “King and Queens.” When he recently sat down with MTV, the Cali native said that Nas was starting a new label with a name similar to that of the song.

“[Nas] actually has a label called Kings and Queens that he just started,” Tyga said. “So he was like, it’s just cliché that I sent him a song called ‘[King] and Queens’ and he just started a label called Kings and Queens, which is crazy.” When contacted by XXLMag.com, Saleh said the report was “not true.”

In 1999, Nas launched Ill Will Records, in the name of his late friend. Then, just over half a decade later, with the release of his album Hip Hop Is Dead, he started his The Jones Experience imprint under Def Jam.

The appearance on Tyga’s album was not the only stellar guest spot that Nas has added to his resume recently. The 38-year-old has strung together a number of impressive guest verses over the last year, which XXL recently broke down here.
