The cast members of "Jersey Shore" isn't going anywhere - except back to their antics in Seaside Heights.
Officials at MTV shot down reports Friday that the network was kicking its boardwalk gang of guidos to the curb following a fifth season of gym, tanning and laundry.
"We love the present cast, and their summer adventures have just begun," said an MTV network spokesperson. "We currently have no plans to recast the show."
That's good news for The Situation, J-Woww, Pauly D and the rest of the crew that turned the reality show - with its barroom brawls, boozy hook-ups and beachfront bust of Snooki - into MTV's No. 1 hit.
The cast just returned from Italy as part of season four and will settle into their Seaside digs next week to start shooting for season five.
MTV's decision was bad news for the show's legion of critics: Italian-American groups, Garden State residents and anyone with good taste.
Rumors of the cast's demise were apparently sparked by economics. The stars pull down a reported $100,000 per episode, and a replacement cast would earn considerably less.
The careers of the stars, already well beyond 15 minutes of fame, are likely to outlive "Jersey Shore."
MTV has already signed Nicole (Snooki) Polizzi, Jenni (J-Woww) Farley, Paul (Pauly D) DelVecchio and Mike (The Situation) Sorrentino for their own series.
