Montell Jordan Beats Cancer For A Second Time

Montell Jordan has become a two-time cancer survivor after conquering a second bout of the disease. He was first diagnosed with Stage 1 prostate cancer in 2024 after a routine Prostate-Specific Antigen screening, but one year after the early detection, it returned in 2025. On Friday (December 22), however, the "This Is How We Do It" artist announced in an Instagram reel that after a two year health journey, he no longer has prostate cancer. "Yesterday was Christmas. I got the greatest Christmas gift I could have ever gotten," Jordan began the reel. "My doctors called me yesterday morning to let me know that I am undetectable now and cancer-free following a year of having preparation to have a prostate removed. Jordan also promoted his upcoming documentary, Sustain, which chronicles his prostate cancer battle. In September, The Fighting Temptations star appeared on TODAY, where he discussed the return of his prostate cancer after having the organ removed last year. "I always imagined I would be telling my prostate cancer story from the other side of prostate cancer because I had a radical prostatectomy surgery," said Jordan. "My prostate was removed. There were clear margins." Jordan also explained that he would be undergoing targeted radiation and blockers to prevent the growth of cancerous lymph nodes. "It is a seven-and-a-half week interruption of life to make sure that I have a longer life," he shared.
