Mike Tyson says he’s becoming a heavyweight hitter in the marijuana business to help people deal with pain — not just to get high.
Brooklyn’s own Iron Mike confirmed he’s in partnership with investors for a “cannabis resort” to be located in California City, a town in the Mojave Desert about a 110-mile drive north from Los Angeles.
He’s not dropping his movie career for dope, but balancing the two.
Tyson (inset) spoke of his excitement at working both jobs at the L.A. premiere of his latest action film, “Kickboxer: Retaliation,” in which he stars with Jean-Claude Van Damme.
“I pretty much donated my name to a corporation and bought some of the land around it and invested in it from a real estate perspective,” he explained.
The champ stressed that his desire to distribute the drug is “100%” to heal, and is not just about getting high.
“There are many more aspects,” Tyson said. “It helps people that cannot sleep, people with cancer and so many quagmires that people don’t know about.”
For the past decade, Jamie Foxx has teased making a biopic of the rise of Tyson, from his days as a bullied kid in Brownsville section of Brooklyn, where he was born to becoming the youngest heavyweight champ at 20.
Tyson, 51, says that “preproduction has started,” and Foxx plans to play him at age 20 — even though the Oscar-winner just turned 50.
“I don’t know how they are going to do it,” Tyson said with a grin. “But I know Jamie and everybody will do a good job on that. But we are there pretty much.”
Tyson hopes to work on more comedies, adding that he turns many scripts down that he doesn’t think are funny.
But he’s a long way from his bucket list dream of doing a Shakespeare production, specifically “Othello.”
“I am nowhere close yet,” he admitted. “I am too nervous.”
In “Kickboxer: Retaliation,” Tyson shows off his punching skills as he helps train martial arts fighter Kurt Sloan face a beast named Mongkut.
